Central to everything I do is encouraging a love of learning. I aim to build confidence and resilience through a positive and creative approach to education, from our calm, home-based work room.
Since starting teaching in Japan in 1998, I have been developing a wide range of strategies to help learners to unlock their potential.
I have worked with all ages, from Primary through to adult education. Having taught English as a foreign language in Japan, Italy, Lincoln College and private language schools for 20 years, I have more recently worked in primary schools.
Through my current role in a primary setting, I hold current enhanced DBS, and I have recently worked particularly with children with Additional Needs, in which I have gained broad experience, and had training in many areas, including ASD, Dyslexia, ADHD, Trauma and PDA.
I have also worked as a Learning Support Tutor, focusing on dyslexia support, resilience and essay writing skills- utilising my extensive experience of academic writing.

Testimonials
A huge thank you to Grange Tuition for giving us a helping hand in understanding the non verbal 11+ papers. Mindboggling until you understand it 😂 Can't recommend Mrs Davies enough⭐
Grange Tuition really helped our son (and me!) get to grips with the 11+, which he passed.Emily is a great tutor, with a patient and encouraging approach to teaching. The sessions were a mix of games and serious revision and it was clear a great deal of effort had been made to hone the lessons to our son’s preferred way of learning. I highly recommend using Grange Tuition. Top marks!
